1st Wedding Anniversary

Paper. Tickets, tickets, tickets. The world is your oyster with this option. Think of travel tickets; a far away destination or a romantic getaway. You could book a helicopter ride or a cruise. Think theatre, opera or cinema tickets. Enjoy an experience together to celebrate your first wedding anniversary.

2nd Wedding Anniversary

Cotton. Think bed or bath. Luxury bed linen, sheets or bed covers for the bedroom. Alternatively indulge in the bathroom with some stylish, cotton bath robes or Egyptian towels.

3rd Wedding Anniversary

Leather. A gorgeous leather handbag for her and a leather wallet for him. If you are buying for a couple, consider a leather photo frame.

4th Wedding Anniversary

Linen, Fruit and Flowers. Linen clothes. Go shopping together and pick out a linen suit for him and a linen dress or trouser suit for her. Wear your beautiful new clothes out to an elegant restaurant. If you are buying for a couple, send a fruit or flower basket.

5th Wedding Anniversary

Wood. Escape to a log cabin retreat. Whether it’s a log cabin in the hills, forest, mountains or beach, it will be a romantic haven. Wooden “love spoons” are a traditional 5th wedding anniversary gift that originates from Wales. You could give a couple some kitchen wooden spoons as an alternative.

6th Wedding Anniversary

Iron. Wrought iron gifts for the home are stunning and will always look like a classic piece. Consider a wrought iron wine rack, clock, occasional table, mirror or coat rack.

7th Wedding Anniversary

Wool or Copper. Sheepskin is another timeless addition to any home. Buy a sheepskin rug for your bedroom. Alternatively a wool blanket is equally luxurious or an antique copper bed-warmer may do the trick! (It is the 7th after all)

8th Wedding Anniversary

Bronze. Search for a bronze sculpture. There are some remarkable artists who create some striking bronze sculptures.

9th Wedding Anniversary

Pottery. Treat yourself to some elegant tableware. Invest in something that will look amazing for years to come. Bring it out on special occasions and romantic meals for just the two of you.

10th Wedding Anniversary

Tin or Aluminium. Lets face it, tin and aluminium are not desirable materials. It's your 10th anniversary, forget the tin gifts, celebrate it somewhere beautiful. Visit a part of the world that was once famous for tin mining such as Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory, North Tasmania or Cornwall in the UK.

11th Wedding Anniversary

Steel. Unlike tin, there are literally hundreds of great gifts that are made from steel including cars, cutlery, major appliances and boats, take you pick! Perhaps a cruise, a new car or a coffee machine accompanied by some stainless steel cups and saucers.

12th Wedding Anniversary

Silk or Linen. Think silk in the bedroom. Silk sheets, silk lingerie, silk nightwear.

13th Wedding Anniversary

Lace. We've racked our brains but been unable to come up with a lace gift for the modern day man. Lace lingerie for the lady would surely please both though!

14th Wedding Anniversary

Ivory. Ivory is rare, extremely expensive and not up everyone’s street. It's best to go for something that is ivory in colour. It's a stunning colour; you should be able to find some chic tableware, clothing, painted furniture and a heap of other possibilities for your 14th anniversary gift.

15th Wedding Anniversary

Crystal. Buy a Swarovski Crystal Prism. If you haven't heard of these before, they are small crystals that you hang next to a sunny window which brightens the room with rainbows. There are many other elegant and modern crystal gifts available from the likes of Swarovski.

20th Wedding Anniversary

China. Celebrate your 20th Anniversary with a Chinese banquet. You could visit China. Contemporary gifts made from fine bone china include tableware and vases.

25th Wedding Anniversary

Silver. A silver wedding anniversary is an important milestone and deserves some beautiful gifts. Buying silverware is a pricey affair but very impressive. You could choose silver tableware such as napkin rings, salt and pepper mills, a coffee pot or even silver egg cups and spoons. Silver candlesticks are also fabulous; you may also consider photo frames.

30th Wedding Anniversary

Pearl. Pearl necklaces, bracelets and earrings for the ladies. If pearls are not to your taste, search the internet for everything “pearl”. You will find resorts, boat trips, restaurants and more with “pearl” in the title. Enjoy some oysters with your champagne!

35th Wedding Anniversary

Coral. Visit Western Australia’s or Fiji’s coral coast. Go on a diving holiday or learn to dive together on holiday! Buy tickets to visit an aquarium.

40th Wedding Anniversary

Ruby. Ruby makes us think of rich, red colours and India, maybe that’s because “Ruby Murray” is cockney rhyming slang for “curry”? If a trip to India is out of the question, consider an Indian themed celebration. Ruby gemstones are traditionally the classic gift to present to the wife in some type of jewellery. Rubies are not for everyone, you may prefer to search for something red instead. A red, mouth blown glass vase or a case of fine red wine make great ruby wedding anniversary gifts.

45th Wedding Anniversary

Sapphire. Sapphire is a beautiful gemstone. Search for a sapphire ring, pendant or bracelet. If you’re after an adventure, visit Bangkok in Thailand to buy your blue sapphires as Thailand is famous for mining them. Be sure to do your homework beforehand so that you can learns the “do’s and don’ts” and find a reputable dealer. Sapphires come in a range of colours so you will find something for most tastes.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Gold. Golden wedding anniversaries are a big reason to celebrate. ...50 years is half a century! Visit the Gold Coast or take a cruise through Egypt on the River Nile. The days of gold plated candlesticks and gold rimmed glasses have passed us by but there’s always goldfish or golden Koi carp! Choose something classy like champagne, that’s golden too.

55th Wedding Anniversary

Emerald. Emerald gemstones are green, look for some emerald jewellery. Alternatively choose something made in Ireland (also known as the Emerald Isle).

60th Wedding Anniversary

Diamond. Diamonds! Being married for this long is an absolute feat! It is an occasion to be celebrated and treasured. Diamond jewellery is the perfect way to splash out on this momentous event.

70th Wedding Anniversary

Platinum. Platinum is a strong metal which is a fitting representation of your marriage! Platinum jewellery is top-notch and an eternity ring would be the ideal gift. If you already have eternity rings, consider his and hers platinum bracelets.
